So, I know you're shocked to see my name on your feed. I'll admit, it's been a while since I've posted anything. =) Oops!
This weekend (July 4th) I'm spending some time relaxing out here in PA with the Hollinger family. I find that it's so nice to get away for a few days. Their house is so quiet and laid-back that it just calms me. I hope to finish reading one of the books I've been working on, Face to Face with God, by Bill Johnson. I'm about halfway through it so far.
There have been a few changes at the 202 this summer. For one, Sarah moved out in May so I was roommate-less for a little bit. Miss you, Surr. And then my good friend, Malpal came back on her break from med school in Colorado for a month and took over Sarah's old space in my room. It was so nice to have her here for at least a little bit. Having her here reminded me of just how much I missed her while she was gone and how much I really appreciate having her around. She left for Wisconsin Friday morning. So it's back to J and I. I've been so blessed to have awesome roommates that totally get me. J and I have so many inside jokes and ways that we talk to each other that nobody else really understands. I love living with her =) And I'm so proud that soon she'll be graduating from hurr school and starting up on her own venture. So much is changing. But it's been such a great summer so far and I'm so excited to see what's coming next.

Oh Google, you never cease to amaze me
So my roommate Jenna introduced me to Google Reader the other day, which revolutionized my world! Now I can follow people's blogs without actually clicking on a link to their site! How lazy am I? Nevertheless, I do think that this will be a step toward me being more informed about everyone's life. Yay for keeping in touch. And being lazy.

Living Life in the Fast Lane
So in the last few weeks my life has been a whirlwind of decision-making moments. I got in not one but TWO car accidents and had my car totaled and will possibly be purchasing a new vehicle. I found out about a new position a few days ago and applied, yesterday, interviewed today, was offered the job, and was told I had to make a decision by tomorrow! It's definitely been a crazy few weeks. I've realized through all of this though that God is trying to teach me to rely on His leading in making decisions. It's been overwhelming having all this piled on at one time. But I can't help but hope I'm making progress so this whole experience can be over!

Tribute-ary
I'm going to try this again. I had this all written up and then it got deleted. Sigh. C'est la vie.
So I recently discovered that my dear friend Mallory who recently moved to Colorado *moment of silence* has a blog and that I am featured in it as her Person of the Week! I was so excited to read about all of the fun times that we had together so in honor of her, I am naming her as my person of the week as well. So here goes...
Mallory Meyer: I first saw Mallory at what I think was the Super Bowl game that the Packers were playing in. It might not have actually been the Super Bowl but I know nothing about football, so bear with me. She was all decked out in green and yellow and I noticed that she was a very cool, confident girl. I also saw her singing at Godsearch a few times but I didn't get to know her because I thought that she probably already had lots of friends and wouldn't really be interested in hanging out with me. Horrible thinking, right? I know. But anyway, she started hanging out with my roommate Jenna a lot and coming over to our house, and it was then that I realized that we had a lot of things in common. We are the same age, we both love Mexico, speak Spanish, and have a heart for people and missions in particular. Since that time, she's been one of my best friends. I remember watching various internet videos with her including Kittens...inspired by Kittens! and other such amusing flash videos. She has since moved on to medical school in Colorado and I miss her, but I'm glad to hear things are going well for her. See you soon, Malpal!

What I want to be when I grow up
In thinking about how I want my life to unfold, I realized that I am very torn. I all at once want to be carefree, traveling around the world, backpacking, doing mission work, making a difference, and at the same time I sometimes have urges to get married, settle down, be a stay-at-home mom and just be a homemaker. So really, when people ask me what I'm going to do next or what I want to do with my life, I don't know what to tell them. I have so many ideas, but they all seem so different...I hate growing up.

My first entry of the fall
I used to blog a lot while I was in college...well, the first few years, anyway, back when LiveJournal was the cool thing. But I haven't been into it for a while, so I thought it would be good to bring it back. We'll see how it works out. My plan is to blog at least once a week.
In honor of the changing season, I decided to make a pros and cons list about fall. So here goes.
Pros:
The leaves are pretty
I feel like drinking hot chocolate all the time (this could also be a con)
My birthday!!
There are actually holidays in the fall, unlike the summer
I like snuggling and this is much easier in the fall, when everyone is cold anyway
Cons:
It's COLD!!
It's also much windier, which causes branches to fall in the street and our garbage can to end up in other people's yards
I go outside in flip flops and a tanktop only to discover to my dismay that it's too cold for that now
It takes longer to get dressed
Fall clothes take up more room in my drawers
Well, I guess I can think of as many pros as cons for this season so I'll reluctantly allow it to stay. Let's raise our glasses of hot chocolate to a good fall!!
